Photo Competition

Welcome to the monthly photo competition for guests of La Fontaine Guest House, Franschhoek, Cape Winelands, South Africa. Each month there will be one prize of 3 bottles of Haut Espoir wine. After one year of entries, the best photo of the year will be awarded a prize of 2 nights’ accommodation at La Fontaine Guest House for two people sharing. The subject matter should be related to Franschhoek.

Post your digital images of the Franschhoek area on the flickr group called “La Fontaine Guest House Franschhoek Photo Competition.”

Please note, if you are not already registered on flickr, you will need to join flickr, then join the group to load photos. Submit your images with titles in this format: TITLE-DATEOFSTAY-YOURNAME e.g. LaFgardens-21.1.10-CatherineSpratt. If you have any queries, email Catherine Spratt at catherine@soundcellar.co.uk.

Group rules must be accepted by all contributors.

1. Submitted photographs will be suitable for all ages to view. If the administrator considers an image unsuitable for the Group, the contributor will be banned and his/her image removed from the Group immediately.
2. Contributors accept that their entries can be used by La Fontaine Guest House, Franschhoek on its website and on social media sites such as Twitter and Flickr.
3. Images should be tagged La Fontaine Guest House Franschhoek Photo Competition. Images should be given a short name which includes the date of stay at La Fontaine Guest House and the sender’s name.
4. The Licence level for all entries will be Attribution Non-Commercial No Derivatives Creative Commons.
5. The subject matter should be related to Franschhoek which is in the Cape Winelands, South Africa.
6. No more than 4 images can be posted per month per contributor.
7. The photographer must have the permission of anyone featured in a photograph to include his/her image in the competition. If the photo includes the image of a child unable to give this permission, permission should be sought and obtained from the child's parent.
8. Contributors must have stayed at La Fontaine Guest House, Franschhoek, for at least one night and must be over 18 years of age. The date of stay must accompany the photograph.
9. Employees of (or anyone connected with) La Fontaine Guest House and Haut Espoir are not eligible to enter.
10. The prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value and are as described in the text. However, the promoter has the full and free right to alter arrangements or prizes should circumstances change.
11. No responsibility can be accepted for lost or delayed entries. Proof of delivery will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
12. To the maximum extent permitted by law the Promoter shall not be liable for any loss and/or personal injury suffered by or to the winner and/or any of his/her friends (or family) that occurs as a result of the winner's and/or his/her friends' (or family's) participation in the prize.
13. There is one prize each month of 3 bottles of Haut Espoir wine and a "Photo of the Year" prize of 2 nights accommodation at La Fontaine Guest House for 2 people sharing to be awarded after the competition has been running for 1 year.
14. The Judges' decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
